Speaker: Eileen Gottlieb, MEd, LMFT
Education Director of the Florida Family Research Network, Faculty Member at Bowen Theory South Florida, and Therapist in Private Practice
Miami, FL

Individual models of human functioning lack a broad examination and understanding of the immediate and historical context in which acute problems may become chronic. Focus on the broad context can contribute to more effective options for managing self with less potential for unfavorable outcomes. Ms. Gottlieb will present three case histories of trainees whose efforts toward differentiation in their family of origin and nuclear family resulted in remission of significant illness and dysfunction. How does training in Bowen theory and its application to relationship challenges make a difference in health outcomes? Does this validate Dr. Murray Bowen’s idea about a “systems miracle”?
