We’re sorry, but the synchronous and asynchronous classes have reached capacity.

Mental health professionals, business leaders, leaders of faith communities, and many others have engaged with Bowen theory to understand their own functioning in their lives and in their work. This is an introduction for people who have little to no formal training or education in the theory. There are no prerequisites for this introduction, while some familiarity with Bowen theory is helpful.

This 7-month course is held online and will meet monthly October through April for 90 minutes each month. Participants will be introduced to Bowen theory as a way of thinking. The course will include presentations and discussion, readings and videos, an introduction to generating a family diagram, a coaching demonstration, and an individual coaching session. This course does involve applying theory to yourself and your family.

The cost for the series is $600, and CEU units will be offered for some professions. Enrollment is limited to 25 persons. Participation in this course may lead to continued engagement with programs in Bowen theory at the Bowen Center.

New Asynchronous Option for Students

We are pleased to announce 10 additional seats in an asynchronous program for those living in time zones that make it difficult to meet during regular class times. These trainees will be able to watch a recording of the presentation and discussion, and participate in a scheduled live Zoom discussion group one week following the presentation on Tuesday evenings at 6:00 pm EDT or EST (GMT -4 or GMT -5 depending on the season). Please contact info@thebowencenter.org for more information.
