Presenter: Libby Copeland
Journalist, Westchester, NY
Ms. Libby Copeland is the author of The Lost Family: How DNA Testing Is Upending Who We Are. Ms. Copeland has written an intriguing book including many aspects of how DNA testing has opened up new information and potentially challenged peoples’ lives. Her subject fits neatly into the learning opportunities leading up to the Bowen Center’s Spring Conference on April 9-10, 2021 entitled, “Unlocking the Mystery of the Family Emotional History”. As a journalist for the Washington Post several years ago, Ms. Copeland received an assignment from her editor to look into the subject of DNA revelations as a feature story. With support from the Post staff and an overwhelming reaction and response from readers, she soon had enough information to consider a book. The book is her topic for tonight’s presentation.
Libby Copeland is an award-winning journalist who writes about culture, science and human behavior. Copeland was a reporter and editor at the The Washington Post for eleven years, has been a media fellow and guest lecturer, and has made numerous appearances on television and radio.
