Ms. Patricia Comella has been learning, researching, and presenting on Dr. Murray Bowen’s theory of family systems emotional functioning since 1966. She has had an eclectic professional career, but in 1983 (a unique mid-life crisis), she obtained a law degree from Georgetown University Law School. She has traveled extensively in her professional careers, including a year in the Azores working in the Foreign Service. Ms. Comella has focused much of her research, writing, and papers/chapters tackling Dr. Bowen’s eighth concept, societal emotional process. This presentation is about her continuing odyssey to understand the emergence of Bowen’s theory and his wishes to make his life work accessible to the world and assist humans to understand the human species as part of all life on Earth.
