Jo Benson Fogel, PA

Jo Benson Fogel has been practicing law in Maryland for over forty years. For the last thirty-five years, her primary focus has been on court-related matters involving families and individuals, primarily in the Maryland courts. The principles of Bowen theory are the lens through which she sees and assists individuals and families who confront or are confronted by legal issues at different points in their lives. Ms. Fogel presented at the 2019 Annual Symposium and previously participated in various Bowen Center day programs. Her usual clients are family members of all ages who are involved in divorce, guardianship, custody, property distribution, business transition, estate planning, and will administration. She is also active in several professional associations, where she has been part of the teaching faculty involved with family law issues, law practice management, and dispute resolution, as well as serving on the faculty of the Maryland Judicial Family Law University. Ms. Fogel has a Preeminent Lawyer and AV rating with Martindale-Hubbell, the national lawyers directory. She has also been designated a Maryland Super Lawyer since 2012 and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2015. She began attending the Georgetown Family Center/Bowen Center Annual Symposia in 1975. She was also interviewed by Dr. Roberta Holt on Family Matters. Her advisory board membership has spanned the successes generated through Dr. Anne McKnight’s leadership and the positive expansion of Bowen Center programs nationally and internationally.
